DIY Beauty Project Suppliers in the Philippines

When I started having interest in do-it-yourself (DIY) beauty projects, my biggest problem at that time was where to buy the raw materials that I’ll be needing in my projects. These raw materials often include carrier oils (beauty oils), essential oils, butters, waxes, colorants and cosmetic packaging. Unfortunately, all of the blogs where I get my DIY inspirations mention US-based suppliers, so I have to do my own research for local counterparts. In order to save you the hassle, I compiled the following list of suppliers where you can buy ingredients for your own DIY beauty projects.

Islas Aromatics

What to buy: carrier oil, essential oil, fragrance oil (also have phthalate-free version), butter, beeswax pellets (both white and yellow), melt & pour soap base, silicone soap mold, soap colorant, liquid castile soap, cosmetic packaging

Where to buy: https://islas-aromatics.myshopify.com/

Sell in retail: Yes

Sell in bulk: Yes

Islas Aromatics has comprehensive list of essential oils and fragrance oils. They both have oil-soluble and water-soluble fragrance oils. So far, they are the only supplier I know who offers phthalate-free fragrance oils, suitable for those who want to use fragrance oils in their organic beauty products. They also have wide variety of choices for butters. Aside from the common shea and cocoa butters, they also sell coffee, aloe and green tea butters. With regards to packaging, they offer bottles and jars of various colors, sizes and caps. I especially love their aluminum jars which I use as lip balm container.

Craftology Essentials

What to buy: carrier oil, essential oil, fragrance oil, butter, beeswax pellets (both white and yellow), soap and cosmetic colorant, surfactant (for shampoo making), emulsifier (for lotion making), preservative, cosmetic packaging

Where to buy: https://www.craftology.ph/ or https://shopee.ph/theinspiredalchemist

Sell in retail: Yes

Sell in bulk: Yes

Craftology Essentials is my favorite supplier in this list. They respond fast to my questions (via their Facebook page) and they have the best packaging (well-sealed and no leakage). I buy all of my carrier oils from them. They even have hard-to-find carrier oils like Kukui, Argan, Macadamia Nut and Rose Hip oils. Also, if you are into soap making, they offer lots of color choices for water-soluble colorants. Finally, they also have vegan-friendly waxes such as Carnauba and Candelilla.

Eunice Inc.

What to buy: carrier oil, essential oil, fragrance oil, butter, wax, soap and cosmetic colorant, surfactant (for shampoo making), emulsifier (for lotion making), preservative, cosmetic clay and many more

Where to buy: http://www.euniceinc.ph/

Sell in retail: Yes

Sell in bulk: Yes

Eunice Inc. is the most established supplier in this list since they have been in industry since 1986. They also have the most complete list of raw materials since they supply mostly to cosmetic companies. If you can’t find the ingredient that you’re looking for from other suppliers, then try asking them and most probably they have it. They do accept retail order but they have higher minimum order depending on the raw material that you want to buy. Actually, there are several items that I wasn’t able to buy from them because of the high minimum requirement. However, if you plan to sell your DIY stuff, then you will definitely save money by ordering your raw materials from them in bulk. What I love about them is that they have professional customer service and their staffs are really nice and helpful.

Beautynbottles

What to buy: carrier oil, essential oil, fragrance oil, butter, cosmetic clay, cosmetic packaging

Where to buy: https://shopee.ph/beautynbottles

Sell in retail: Yes

Sell in bulk: Yes

Beautynbottles offers hard-to-find cosmetic packaging like lip balm tubes, lip gloss tubes, mascara tubes and loose powder containers with sifter (for mineral makeup). The shop also sells some tools you can use for your DIY projects like mini funnel, pipette and small spatula. Personally, I love the variety of colors and designs of their cosmetic packaging. They even have pink lip balm tubes.

Purple Butterfly Crafts

What to buy: carrier oil, essential oil, fragrance oil, butter, beeswax, cosmetic clay, emulsifier (for lotion making), melt and pour soap base, botanical extract, soap and cosmetic colorant, cosmetic packaging

Where to buy: https://shopee.ph/purplebutterflyshop

Sell in retail: Yes

Sell in bulk: Yes

Purple Butterfly Crafts has some interesting items. For instance, if you want to create your own body scrub, they have different types of salt: Epsom salt, Himalayan pink salt and sea salt. If you need a thickener for your homemade shampoo and lotion, they also sell xanthan gum in as little as 10g (because you really don’t need that much to thicken a solution). Moreover, if you like to use aloe vera to add moisturizing property to your beauty concoction, they both have the gel and extract form of aloe vera.

Sogomi Corp.

What to buy: carrier oil, essential oil, fragrance oil, butter, soap and cosmetic colorant (both water and oil soluble), surfactant (for shampoo making), emulsifier (for lotion making), melt and pour soap base, preservative, botanical extract, cosmetic packaging and many more

They have amount as low as 10g, 20g, 30ml, 100g and 120ml (again, it depends on the material). You may ask them to send you a copy of their product guide list which I find really helpful. The list contains both the brand name and chemical name of the raw material, its usage rate, its physical appearance (e.g. liquid, solid or powder form), among others.

Moreover, they also sell clays for DIY facial mask and organic scrubs which come in different flavors. Mediself.ph is an online supplier of natural cosmetic raw materials in the Philippines. I can say that this shop is a hidden gem for DIY cosmetic formulators because most of the raw materials they offer are being used in popular Korean skincare products. Surprisingly, most of their raw materials are actually sourced from South Korea – the land of K-Beauty. Their products are professionally packaged and labeled (expiry date is indicated on the label).

MIZZAP (Andreazap)

What to buy: carrier oil, cosmetic grade mica, cosmetic grade glitter, pigment, flavoring oil, lip gloss base, starter kit, syringe, lip gloss packaging and many more

Where to buy:

Sell in retail: Yes

Sell in wholesale: Yes

For those who are interested in making DIY mineral makeup (e.g. lip gloss, eyeshadow, blush, etc.), then you’ll be glad to know that MIZZAP carries a wide selection of TKB Trading (https://tkbtrading.com/) products locally. TKB Trading is a famous supplier in USA that sells high quality raw materials and starter kits for making your own makeup products. It’s great to know that we don’t need to directly order from them as MIZZAP imports and distributes their products locally.

When I found this online shop, my eyes literally pop out because they have the largest collection of mica colors available in Shopee. They do sell in smaller quantity at an affordable price which is perfect for DIY hobbyists who just wanted to make their own makeup for personal use.
